Comment: I'd sell a kidney, a piece of liver or bone marrow in a New York minute

Comment: I'd sell a kidney in a New York minute. It's a win win situation

Comment: Being an economics professor, I have to agree that within some limits (yet to be worked out) the idea of the "free market" for certain part organs is not a bad idea. As the author points out, when the price goes higher, then the supply increases and there is no question that the supply needs to be greater. Why not keep the current system, but also allow alopng side of it a "free market" donor program from those who are living and are either in need, or just would like to donate to help out.

I believe in the power of incentives. At age 76, I am luckily healthy and am still teaching as an adjunct professor of economics up to six classes in economics, mostly online. But the point is, that as much as I love teaching, I would not be doing it if it were not for the marginal income that it provides me to supplement my retirement income. So I think that there is a case to be made.
